GENERAL EXPERIENCE Rose’s Cantina has been the leading legend of Amsterdam for her Mexican cuisine and cocktails since the opening in 1982. There would not be a better time for Jim Dobson & Daniel Uzcudun to partner up with Casper Reinders then at this moment and together they will bring the old Rose’s Cantina to the now, with a surprising Pan American international menu and interior.
INSPIRATION Casper Reinders, who won restaurateur of the year, is a club owner, designer and collector. He has a deep passion for traveling and he already shared his experiences when he took us through a journey of design and taste, by his other venues in Amsterdam. Such as Club Jimmy Woo, which started in Asian style and was transformed in to a rarities showcase with skulls and unique interior.
We experienced the exciting flavours of Morocco at Bocinq,enjoyed the beautiful balanced French cuisine of Lion Noir, which won best interior design award, danced at Chicago Social club and had great cocktails at Ludwig. So yes, we now invite you to embark on Casper’s new journey to the new South America with Roses cantina: Cocina Pan Americana.
This latest addition to the Tao group is designed by Casper Reinders himself, and Thijs Murré. Thijs is known for surprising unique designs inspired by cultures, fashion, film, art, photography and traveling. He’s worked on designs of beautiful private interiors besides his projects with Casper such as Lion Noir, Ludwig and now Roses Cantina. Casper and Thijs are an extraordinary team in finding the most original pieces, with a longer or recent history of time, but never pre-fabricated. There is always a soul and a story to tell, with every little treasure that you see in their interior, so it can’t be copied or duplicated. Even the paint is an original recipe to create the perfect unique shade. The combination is an eclectic perfection combining items through out time into a perfect vision in the present.
Submerge yourself in the unique interior of Roses Cantina with it’s comfortable leather couches and chesterfield chairs while enjoying a special Tequila cocktail like the delicious jalapeños margarita in the bar and lounge area, before you enjoy Spanish cooking in a new dimension. In our restaurant side, which can seat about 120 covers and which offers an area that can be separated for groups of 50, you can taste the resulting dishes, including the Mexican street salad, ceviche or the Rose’s special burger. And then, when dinner is finished, you go up to the tequila library,which offers a unique menu of special tequilas and margaritas, and enjoy a game of pool with your friends.
